View Functional Location
Objective: Gain an understanding of Functional Locations and how to organize and store assets within Functional Locations.
Functional Locations provide the ability for an organization to group Assets by function, geographical location and/or another classification system. This allows for a greater degree of control with regards to management and reporting within the Asset Hierarchy.
A Quick Search can be performed using the Functional Location prefix "FL:" to locate a specific Functional Location record.
It is also possible to include different levels of Functional Locations in Dashboard Widgets and Advanced Search reports (e.g. Pivot Grids):
The above example shows Advanced Search / Dashboard tabular data that includes Functional Locations that are one level (L1) above all related Assets.
Clicking on the Functional Location ID will navigate to the relevant record at its specific location in the Asset Hierarchy:
